Year 2
Year 2 started their week by learning about the architecture in Horfield. Later on in the week they learnt about explorers in Bristol, and set sail on The Matthew. They were also paid a visit by a woman who attended the Primary school when it was on the site of the present day Manor Farm Boys Club. They learnt how different education in the 1930's and 40's was.
Year 4
Year 4 spent their week learning about George Mullers Orphanages, which opened on Ashley Down Road. Each child was given the identity of a real orphan who was resident at one of the orphan houses. They spent the week following their story, learning about George Muller, and what life was like at the orphanage. This involved a trip to the orphanage buildings themselves, which are now part of the City of Bristol College. At the end of the week they created short videos detailing the lives of their orphans, including facts that they had learnt throughout the week. |
