This project has been the undertaking of the University of the West of England, Friends of Horfield Common and the English Heritage Schools Programme, in Bristol. Its aim is to research, collect, and collate information relating to Horfield Common and the surrounding area.
This is the sister site to an interactive 'History of Horfield Common' map, which is linked below. This site provides extra detail on certain aspects of Horfield's history, and information on the other outcomes of the project.
The information contained within this website is a combination of original research, and the collation of information already published from other sources. A large amount of the information on this site has been gathered through engagement with the community, including the collection of oral testimony from community elders. These interviews have been made into an on-line archive, which can be accessed below.
The project is ongoing, so if you would like to make a contribution, please get in touch via the 'Contact' page.
